Privacy policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

This policy explains what information travel-calculator.com ("we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We are based in the United Kingdom and follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Who we are

travel-calculator.com is operated by FOM LTD, Northumberland, United Kingdom. You can contact us about privacy at hello@travel-calculator.com.

Information you enter into our calculators

All calculations happen in your web browser. The dates, distances and prices you type are not sent to us. To save you re-entering them, some calculators store your inputs (for example, your list of Schengen trips) in your browser's local storage on your own device. You can delete this at any time using the "Clear all trips" button or by clearing your browser's site data.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show adverts, which keeps this site free. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure their performance and, if you consent, personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites.

When you first visit from the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, a consent message lets you choose whether to allow personalised advertising. If you decline, you may still see non-personalised ads, which use cookies only for purposes such as frequency capping and fraud prevention. You can change your choice at any time using the "Privacy and cookie settings" link that appears on the page.

You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may stop some parts of the site from working.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit the site, which pages are popular and how quickly pages load. Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies or local storage and does not track individual visitors across websites. It collects aggregated information such as the page visited, referring site, browser type, country and page load times. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used only to keep the site secure and working, and is deleted after a short period.

Legal basis

We rely on your consent for personalised advertising and non-essential cookies, and on our legitimate interests in running a secure, free website for server logs and strictly necessary storage.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. As we do not collect calculator data, we hold very little information that can identify you. To make a request, email us at the address above. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

This site is intended for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We link to official and third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
